This Code of Ethics (COE) presents guidelines for members of the Russian Toy Club of America, whose foremost purpose in coming together is to participate in the parent breed club by serving in whatever capacity I feel best qualified. This could include serving on a committee, fundraising event, or by financial support along with the welfare, protection, and improvement of the Russian Toy. The purpose in this Code of Ethics is to set forth minimum standards to which RTCA members shall to adhere to. This COE is intended to guide us in our dealings with each other and our actions as protectors, breeders, and representatives of the Russian Toy.
As a member of the Russian Toy Club of America,
I pledge to uphold the goals of the Russian Toy Club of America as set forth in the club’s Constitution and By-Laws.
I pledge to uphold the American Kennel Club rules applying to Dog Shows and Registration and the Russian Toy Club of America’s Rules applying to its Dog Shows.
I pledge to breed AKC registered Russian Toys, or Russian Toys from registries which are acceptable to the American Kennel Club.
I pledge to keep myself informed in the areas of dog health and genetics and to carefully evaluate all breeding stock for hereditary faults or disqualifying defects.
I pledge to be responsible for all Russian Toys that I have produced for their entire life-time by: a. Never buying, selling or trading my/our Russian Toy to research laboratories, pet stores, or to auctions. b. Taking back my Russian Toys, either sold or given, but unwanted by the current owners or helping the current owners find them new homes.
I pledge to abide by the AKC Code of Sportsmanship.
I pledge to conduct all of my Russian Toy related business practices in a clear and concise manner, recognizing that no business dispute will be resolved by the Russian Toy Club of America.
